The “serenity” is absolutely beautiful, relaxing, peaceful and inspiring. A throwback in time. My favourite time of the day is the 1800 drinks on the balcony.

Thank you for the use of your casita. We had a relaxing and enjoyable week. La Zahurda is really a home in the sun.

Thank you for a wonderful experience at the most beautiful casa in Andalucia.

We went to Andalucia for a family wedding. The villas at La Zahurda against the backdrop of Comares with the distant Mediterranean in the background was fantastic. A fantastic holiday location for the entire family. The kids loved it.

I have had many holidays at this stunning location and always look forward to the next time. Fantastic scenery with beautiful breathtaking views for miles. An inviting stay for all ages, and brilliant for large families. Local towns with fab food and welcoming residents. A car drive journey to the beach but worth it for the lovely fish and tapas restaurants on the sea front. An ideal spot for keen cyclists and walkers. A sense of true relaxation and with a real twist of modern on traditional decor. Well worth a visit! Just fab!

Nestled in the shadow of the beautiful and historic town of Comares, La Zahurda is the perfect hideaway! With picture postcard views of the idyllic countryside La Zahurda was the perfect home from home. Both of the properties were well equipped, spacious and comfortable. We loved the pool, the bbq and the outside dining area situated under the vines. It was the perfect spot to base ourselves from to explore the coast, many quaint villages, quad biking in the countryside and relaxing with a cool beer with the locals in Comares. In short we adored our stay and will be booking La Zahurda again next year.

Re La Zahurda, how about.....A house that loves family whatever their ages. A hilltop hideaway with a view that more than rewards the journey and calls for a return.

We had a fabulous Chinese New Year holiday at La Zahurda – our first stay there but it definitely won’t be the last. The house is comfortable and welcoming, the grounds are perfect for relaxing strolls and the views are breathtaking. An ideal place to unwind and forget about the outside world, whatever the time of year. It wasn’t pool weather – we were there in early February – but it was lovely to be outside during the day. The temperature was perfect for walking, either a scenic meander to the attractive village of Comares or something more ambitious, or chilling out on one of La Zahurda’s terraces, contemplating the magnificent landscape of the Montes de Malaga. Perfect, too, for eating outside. We had a memorable lunch of freshly grilled sardines on the beach, and another delicious meal in the gardens of a hotel near Lake Vinuela. Perhaps unsurprisingly – it is Spain, after all – it’s difficult not to focus on food and wine. A highlight of our stay was an amazing dinner cooked at La Zahurda by Lynsey of La Rosilla Lifestyle and Food. We learned not to call the huge pan of rice, chicken, chorizo, and many other delights paella – it’s arroz in this part of the world – and we loved trying local wines that were completely new to us. Talking of wine, we spent an intriguing morning at Bodegas Bentomiz, an old winery restored and run by a very charming Dutch couple, before enjoying some of their wines with an excellent lunch. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Thank you La Zahurda!

La Zahúrda has spectacular views of the La Axarquía countryside and across to the Mediterranean sea. From a conical hilltop guests experience the rustic feel of the villas and enjoy painting, yoga, cycling, swimming, sun bathing, walking and home cooking in fresh mountain air surrounded by a kaleidoscope of flowers, the lively scent of wild fennel, and tweeting birds.

There are two houses on the property. The casa is the main house from which you enter as you come down the stairs from the driveway. It features a wide balcony overlooking the countryside and in certain light all the way to Africa. There is a large lounge with an open fireplace for entertaining which opens onto a lovely, vine covered terrace where guests can comfortably sit and enjoy a fabulous meal.

The casita is the smaller house at the bottom of the stairs from the casa. It has a homely feel. The lounge is cozy and the dining table opens out onto a terrace with views of the garden and the mountains, often dappled in sunlight as the shadows create changing patterns all day.

Throughout La Zahúrda there are lots of shady spots to chill and enjoy your day.
